土瓜灣南線: 庶民生活消閒團  Tour of Southern To Kwa Wan: Leisure Life of the Working Class

 

1) 紅蘋果街市/落山道街市  Red Apple Wet Market / Lok Shan Road Wet Market 

當年土瓜灣很多小販都搬到紅蘋果街市。

 

Back then, a lot of street vendors in To Gua Wan settled down at the Red Apple Wet Market.

 

2) 金至尊 / 朱古力店  3D-Gold Jewelry / Chocolate Shop

 自由行團必去的購物店。

 

They have become a well-received tourist attraction.

 

3) 海岸線/天后廟、下鄉道古跡  Coast Line / Tin Hao Temple, Ha Heung Road Historical Sites  

1885年既天后廟點解會同海心龍母廟走埋一齊既? 下鄉道突然有一幢三級歷史建築既唐樓，唐樓樓梯旁還有以前生活的遺跡。

 

Why were the Tin Hao Temple and Hoi Sum Dragoness Temple jointly built in 1885? We can also find a Grade III historical construction "Tong Lau" on Ha Heung Road, with its cracked staircase which still reflects the life from the past.

 

4) 海心公園  Hoi Sum Park

原來以前係一個小島, 叫海心島, 最原本係叫土瓜灣島, 土瓜灣因此而命名。

 

Hoi Sum Island, was once a small island named To Kwa Wan Island. The whole district (To Gua Wan) was then named after it.

 

5) 九龍城碼頭  Kowloon City Pier

點解九龍城碼頭係土瓜灣? 大家又知唔知第一代九龍城碼頭係邊呢?

 

Why is Kowloon City Pier located in To Kwa Wan instead of Kowloon City? Do you know where the pier was initially located?
